thieves. Later he and Huck will live together with Sally, Tom's aunt, and Huck
pretends to be Tom while Tom pretends to be his younger brother Sid.

with the Widow Douglas?
Because after Huck and Tom discovered hidden money and received twelve
thousand dollars worth of gold in return, Judge Thatcher invested the money for
them and Huck was adopted by the widow Douglas and Miss Watson, who went out of
their way to raise him properly.

Chapter Three

Because Jim, like the rest of the townspeople, thought Huck was dead and

Because he heard the widow's plan to sell him to a slave trader and he

Chapter Four

his murder. The woman then tells Huck that she believes Jim is hiding on
Jackson Island.

Chapter Five

Chapter Eight
